Things that were once difficult to do are now becoming easier for us
with the progress of technology.
For example, in the past, sending letters was almost the only way to communicate
with others living far from us.
At that time, people read books or magazines to get information
and looked at maps to travel around the world.
But now, we often use smartphones.
This progress of technology is making our lives more convenient.
Here are two examples which can make our lives more convenient and change
our future.
One is solar panels.
Solar panels today are very heavy and usually put on the ground or the roofs,
but in the near future, thin, light and soft ones will be developed.
Thanks to these features, the new type of solar panels can be attached
to the surfaces of
various things and provide us with a more efficient way to produce electricity.
For example, if we put the solar panels on windows or walls,
we can produce electricity in many places by using sunshine.
( Ａ ), when solar panels are made, they need fewer materials
and the process of making them releases less carbon dioxide.
They are better for the environment and less expensive,
so they are expected to play a large role in the future.
The other example is electric vehicles with automated driving technology.
They are expected to decrease the number of traffic accidents and improve

Drivers do not have to be so nervous while they are in this type of cars.
If we use electric vehicles, we can decrease air pollution in our cities.
By using electric vehicles and automated driving technology effectively,
we can decrease damage to the environment.

Of course, each of them has challenges we must get over.
Solar panels are easily affected by weather,
and we need to think about traffic laws carefully and change them.
However, if we work together, we will live a more convenient, safer, and
better life.
